White Lace Romper & Snail Bag

Can you believe that it is almost the end of August? This year has seriously flown by and I've noticed as I get older, the days, weeks, and months go by a lot faster. I remember when I was in middle school and summer lasted forever, but not anymore. The other half and I are starting to look around to  buy our first home! Its really exciting and we've been to a few open houses so far and I have been tracking houses to understand the different between the listing price verses the sell price. Wish us luck!

On another note, one of my favorite sites, Lulu*s is launching their outlet sale site! It starts today (ends August 2nd) and they have amazing sales at ridiculous prices! The way the outlet site works is that they have these buckets, $10, $15, $25, and $40. And you probably guessed it, each bucket will correspond with a certain dollar amount, and it will make shopping on a budget that much easier, which is something I truly appreciate right now as we're trying to save up every penny to buy a home. Have a look and happy shopping!

Sequin Top & Lace-Up Heels

How pretty are these painted stairs?! They recently got painted and redone -previously they were just regular cement stairs (see these old posts). If you are ever in San Francisco and want to visit this staircase, it is located at California St. and 32nd Ave.

This look is a dressed-up but work appropriate outfit that is great for happy hour with co-workers. It mixes dressy with the blazer and casual with the jeans. Perfect for those pick me up days.

Have an amazing weekend!

Face Forward

Today I'm partnering with Clinique to share an empowering personal life lesson that I learned over the past few years. I can say with 100% confidence that I am a much wiser now than when I was in college. One might ask, "well, what does 'much wiser' mean?" Well when I evaluate my achievements and goals that I have set for myself, I look at my overall lifestyle. And it's a bit funny to say, but I go down this mental checklist of whether or not I am satisfied with my: health, job, family, partner, friends, hobbies, and so on. If there is anything in that list that is not satisfactory, I try and figure out why that happened and how I can change that. This might sound odd or very calculated, but I have found it to be very insightful because you are not just focusing on one aspect of your life, but it as a whole.

When I recently, ran through that checklist in my mind, I found that I was lacking in the health aspect and I immediately set goals for myself to change and make improvements. I started to run 3-4 times a week, signed up for the Nike Women's Half Marathon in October, and started to eat more healthy. Looking back, when I was young, and if I was unhappy with my health, I would of just unhappily dwelled on it instead of actually doing something. And this personal lesson that I learned over time is that you have control over almost everything in your life. I used to think that I got lucky when I got this or unlucky when that happened, but everything is 20/20 in hindsight. Therefore if I could give my future self advice, it would be to never forget that you are in control. You can live the life you want and should do what you are passionate about. You can #FaceForward.

Thank you so much for reading and if you could give your future self any advice, what would it be?

Connie
