Planning For The Future

Growing up comes with many perks- you get to move into your own place, establish your career, and become independent. I love being able to support myself and help out my family and friends when needed. But we all go through the scary and confusing process of planning for your future and getting proper health care. I've asked myself, "How much can I really spend every month?" and "Which health care plan is better?" too many times to count, but it is really important that we find the right answers to those questions.

It is really easy to spend money; you can go out for a fancy dinner or go on a mini vacay for the weekend. When it comes to saving, that takes time and careful budgeting. The other half and I have been setting aside money every month towards our first home and we get a reality check every time we see the house prices in Silicon Valley. Did you know that a recent survey by CNN found that 76% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck? That is a terrifying thought because you never know when an emergency will occur and how much it may cost you. A few months ago, I had to go into the ER in the middle of the night. I'm lucky enough to have health care coverage, I see my health care bill as a monthly budget essential like rent. Having insurance really paid off because the cost turned out to be significantly higher than I could of ever imagined. Five months have passed and I still receiving miscellaneous  bills. (crazy...)

At the end of the day, fancy shiny things are great, but your health is the most important aspect of your life. Literally.

Luckily, Aflac has great tips on how to prepare yourself from the "One Emergency Away From Financial Disaster." Aflac offers insurance policies for accidents, dental, life, vision, and more. They focus on helping and preventing us from being burdened by financial stress. So definitely check out their website for additional information on how we can plan for the future.

Cheers to living healthy!

Shades of Grey & Leather

I have been spending my weekends reorganizing my wardrobe for my new walk-in closet (aka my sister's old room which is vacant because she moved out). :D We have been making way too many trips to Ikea this past few weeks, but I am so excited to get everything setup and have a nice organized place for my clothes and accessories!

Todays look is a classy neutral look with a touch of edge from the leather skirt. This outfit is perfect for a date, work, or interview. I really like this top (so soft!) and skirt and can't wait to pair them with other items for a more casual look.

Girls Night Out Outfit

Happy hump day! We're half-way through the week and Friday is just around the corner! Like I said in the previous post, I'm loving leather (or pleather :D ), leopard, and over the knee boots right now. I wore this pairing over the weekend when we went out celebrating my sisters birthday! I was comfortable and my feet were happy all night thanks to these amazing boots!
