5 Days of AOS: Connnietang

I'm really excited to participate in Articles of Society's 5 Days of AOS again. They are so supportive and sweet. (thank you!!) This week 4 bloggers and myself are styling these high-waist jeans in different ways.

Check out how these bloggers styled the jean here:
Style Cue by Suzie Q (Up tomorrow)

This is a different look, but I think that its fun to experiment a bit and push your comfort-zone by wear new clothing items. So I wore it with a loose long layered top (so my bum was covered) and tucked it in in the front. What is your take on high-waist jeans?

Also, what are you going to be for Halloween? :D

Pretty Full Sweater Skirt

It is our 5 year anniversary this upcoming weekend and I can't believe how long its been and how quickly it has flown by. It honestly feels like we just met a year ago, but we've gone through so much! From college to graduation to starting our careers. :) We plan to revisit some of our favorite and most memorable restaurants, places, activities, etc. this weekend and to also make a memory box of knick knacks. Then put it away and forget about it for another 5 years.

What kinds of things do you and your significant other do for special occasions? I would love to get additional ideas! By the way, hope you like this look! I am swooning over this skirt, the material and fit looks like it would be by a designer! I love how full and flattering it is.

If you haven't already, check out my current giveaway for a chance to win one of two $50 gift cards! Have an amazing week!

Planning For The Future

Growing up comes with many perks- you get to move into your own place, establish your career, and become independent. I love being able to support myself and help out my family and friends when needed. But we all go through the scary and confusing process of planning for your future and getting proper health care. I've asked myself, "How much can I really spend every month?" and "Which health care plan is better?" too many times to count, but it is really important that we find the right answers to those questions.

It is really easy to spend money; you can go out for a fancy dinner or go on a mini vacay for the weekend. When it comes to saving, that takes time and careful budgeting. The other half and I have been setting aside money every month towards our first home and we get a reality check every time we see the house prices in Silicon Valley. Did you know that a recent survey by CNN found that 76% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck? That is a terrifying thought because you never know when an emergency will occur and how much it may cost you. A few months ago, I had to go into the ER in the middle of the night. I'm lucky enough to have health care coverage, I see my health care bill as a monthly budget essential like rent. Having insurance really paid off because the cost turned out to be significantly higher than I could of ever imagined. Five months have passed and I still receiving miscellaneous  bills. (crazy...)

At the end of the day, fancy shiny things are great, but your health is the most important aspect of your life. Literally.

Luckily, Aflac has great tips on how to prepare yourself from the "One Emergency Away From Financial Disaster." Aflac offers insurance policies for accidents, dental, life, vision, and more. They focus on helping and preventing us from being burdened by financial stress. So definitely check out their website for additional information on how we can plan for the future.

Cheers to living healthy!

Shades of Grey & Leather

I have been spending my weekends reorganizing my wardrobe for my new walk-in closet (aka my sister's old room which is vacant because she moved out). :D We have been making way too many trips to Ikea this past few weeks, but I am so excited to get everything setup and have a nice organized place for my clothes and accessories!

Todays look is a classy neutral look with a touch of edge from the leather skirt. This outfit is perfect for a date, work, or interview. I really like this top (so soft!) and skirt and can't wait to pair them with other items for a more casual look.

Thigh High Boots & Giveaway

I am loving leopard, leather, and thigh-high boots this season. (*hint hint* on an upcoming blog post... ) :) This look is a casual, chic, and ridiculously comfortable way to stay warm as the days get shorter and colder. These AOS coated skinnys from Nordstrom are amazing and so stretchy! I never knew coated jeans could be that comfortable. And don't get my started on these boots, I've been wanting the Stuart Weitzman 5050 Boots after seeing them on many of my favorite bloggers, but could not bring myself to spend that much on a pair of boots. Then this season, these Chinese Laundry boots came along and I love them.

I haven't done a giveaway in a while! So I'm super excited to partner up with Kiki LaRue to bring you a chance to win $50 to their website and the best part is that there is going to be 2 winners! I got this leopard cardigan from their website and love layering light items under jackets when it gets cold. :) Just enter below for a chance to win! Good luck! <3
