How To: Cleaning Up (Quickly!)

Alright guys, today we are stepping away from the glitz and glam of fashion to talk about keeping our homes fresh and inviting, this is what my living room looks like after a weekend of cleaning, but let me honestly say it does not stay this clean for very long. With friends and family coming and going, its realistically really hard to keep it tidy.

My focus today is my favorite place at home, the kitchen. This is where we get together to mingle, eat, and enjoy each others company, so it naturally is the first place that gets messy.

Juggling work and blogging, I just don't have a lot of time to devote towards cleaning; therefore I survive off of functional, multi-use, effortless products that can quickly get the job done, but most importantly done well. If you are a busy gal like me, you need Pledge Multi Surface in your life! It works like magic and practically on any surface (laminate, wood, stainless steep, granite, glass, and marble). If you do run into a stubborn area, I like to quickly spray the area and leave wiping that area of the countertop for last. That way the product breaks down the mess, making it super easy to wipe clean, and leaving the countertop revitalized. It is super gentle and doesn't leave any filmy residue, while at the same time it has a fresh scent (no harsh chemical smell here)! I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you'd like to see more of these "how-to" posts on the blog! Have an amazing (and tidy) rest of your week!

Until next time,

Perfect Summertime Tropical Set

How fun is this tropical set from Lulu*s?! I can see this being the perfect outfit for my upcoming summer Vegas trip with my girlfriends, for a hot Sunday brunch, or BBQ at my sisters house. I have been toying with the idea of cutting my hair and getting bangs, I used to have bangs, (see old blog post) but overtime I got lazy, didn't trim them on time, and eventually allowed them to grow out. Yay or nay...? What do you guys think?

Summer White Dress

We are getting torched in the Bay Area, yesterday is was 91 degrees! Phew! I just came back from a week long work trip to NYC, (singing Taylor Swift's Welcome to New York in my head...) and I have to say that I love that city. The streets are beautiful and the food and shopping is amazing! I ran into Chriselle Lim, one of my favorite bloggers at a Korean restaurant and had to say hi and take a photo. (see below!) I was beyond excited and felt as if I was approaching a celebrity! :)

I adore this trapeze dress from Banana Republic, it is so light and airy. The only down side is that the material that it is made out of wrinkles easily... The wrinkles are most visible in the last photo. Anyways, I hope you still like this look and have an amazing rest of your week!

Sister Sister: Half & Half That Bends The Rules!

Hey guys! I'm continuing my partnership with HP to bring you another post about being creative, brave, and unconventional -about doing stuff that "bends the rules".  (See post one here!) This post is inspired by the HP x360's Behind The Scenes video, mainly because I personally love working on projects that are new, refreshing, and collaborative. I especially loved how HP brought together a bunch of super talented creatives to contribute and collaborate on this project! My blog for instance, I work extremely close with my photographer / boyfriend to plan out outfits, shoot locations, timing, and more. It takes a tremendous amount of energy and time, but we love doing it so it does not feel like work. Plus it has brought us that much closer. :) (Thank baby!) But it was mainly the collaborative nature of this project that really drew me to do this partnership with HP.

Today, I'm partnering with my sister Winnes. She is an amazing older sister, we are 3 years apart, and I always look to her for advice; you can say we are more like BFF's than sisters. One thing that we love doing is getting together on the weekends and hosting a dinner with our family! I am usually in charge of making a refreshing beverage and thats what we are going to share with you today! You just need a handful of ingredients to make this yummy drink.

1. Green Tea
2. Lemonade
3. Raspberries
4. Lemon
5. Torani Strawberry Syrup
6. Tonic Water

I have been making this half & half drink for a really long time and thought that I mastered the mixing and portions, but this past weekend when my sister and I got together to make it for this post, she suggested to add tonic water. We did, and it made the drink that much better! Imaging a fizzy fruity half & half! Yum! And that is why I love projects that are "out of the box", new, and push the envelope. When you get different great ideas bouncing off of each other, it can lead to something amazing! This is how I got to "bend the rules" with my sister, we found a new, but more importantly better way to make this tea drink. Which is what the amazing artists achieved in their interactive video and you can watch the Behind The Scenes video here

I really hope you enjoyed this post as much as my sister and I did. So next time you have a get together or just want to "bend the rules" to your ice tea, try out my recipe and spice it up with a splash of syrup and fruit!

Have an amazing rest of your week!
